2nd NANODRUG International Meeting - 2-3 September 2013 - Biarritz, France

2nd NANODRUG International meeting

The 2nd NANODRUG International Scientific Meeting was held from the 2nd to 3rd September 2013 in Biarritz, France and was organised jointly by CNRS and QMUL1. A total of 31 participants attended the Meeting. All Principal Investigators attended the meeting. All Marie Curie Fellows from NANODRUG presented their latest scientific results. Five young researchers from the NANODRUG partners’ labs, not employed by the Network but whose work is aligned with the aims of NANODRUG were offered a bursary to attend these events and present their results. In addition two Experienced Researchers from another EC project IAPP, IRMED also presented their research. The contributions of all these researchers enhanced the quality of the events and provided excellent networking opportunities. Dr Marina Resmini gave a talk on “introduction to complementary skills training”. Dr Roger Kaspar, NANODRUG associated partner from Transderm gave two lectures on the “Development of siRNA therapeutics for skin disorders including pachyonychia congenital” and “Topical mTOR inhibitors for treatment of skin disorders”. The Network also invited two guest lecturers to present their sicientific research: Dr Joachim Wegener from the University of Regensburg gave a lecture on “The interaction of nano- and microparticles with animal cells studied by impedimetric assays”, and Dr Alessandra Bossi from the University of Verona gave a lecture on “Molecularly imprinted polymers for proteomics”.
